This is a limited-production resin model of the Silver Age
Barry Allen Flash, #10 of just 25 produced by Nut-Hut Productions. It's a very
nice kit, dynamic pose, well sculpted and molded.
The Flash is connected to the base by one big toe, more or
less. I used three separate pins at this connecting point, one coming up from
the bottom and two coming sideways through the rock. It holds him fairly solid,
all things considered.
Color-wise, I went with the traditional Silver Age red and
yellow colors. There was a temptation to use gold for the yellow parts, which is
kind of Alex Ross revisionist. But I resisted the temptation, instead opting for
a glossy yellow for a slightly different effect. I painted the rock base a dark
bluish gray, with a lighter gray wash. I like the look.
Overall, I like this kit a lot. It rivals the classic Horizon
kit for pose and build; it's a little smaller scale, and thus lighter and more
stable on the big toe connection.
