After we checked into our room on Monday afternoon,
we waited for the daily rain to end and then headed over the Disney-MGM
Studios. We visited several cool attractions, and had dinner (hot
dogs and French fries!) at the Backlot Express.
Here are the attractions we saw:
The Magic of Disney
Animation
A great behind-the-scenes look at how animated movies are made,
complete with a funny film (starring Walter Cronkite & Robin
Williams!), a visit with a real Disney animator, and a chance to view
where the animators work.
(Two thumbs up from Ben and Alec--and Alec
says he wants to be an animator when he grows up!)
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt
Spectacular
A really exciting stunt show, with lots of action and explosions and
stuff.
(Two big thumbs up from Ben and Alec--it
was one of their favorites of the whole trip!)
Star Tours
One of those "jiggly" motion rides. On this one, you're
supposed to take a shuttle to the moon of Endor, but the robot pilot
overshoots the planet and puts you in the middle of a battle with evil
Empire ships--and the Death Star!
(Two big thumbs up--another favorite of the
entire trip!)
The Great Movie Ride
On this one you ride around and through various scenes from famous
movies. The Aliens scene was a little scary, but the rest was fun--and
the kids thought the Animatronic figures were pretty life-like,
especially John Wayne's horse.
